My Troublesome Star Ep 6 earns HIGEST ratings – international K-drama fans overwhelmingly positive

The South Korean romantic comedy My Troublesome Star, Episode 6 aired last night to its highest ratings yet, with a substantial increase in its viewership versus its previous episode.

According to Nielsen Korea, My Troublesome Star, Episode 6 grabbed 3.83 percent of the nationwide audience share on Tuesday night, which was a solidly higher rating versus the 3.08 percent for Episode 5.

The K-drama’s Seoul ratings were also on their way up, with a 3.36 percent of the viewership last night versus the 2.62 percent it garnered for Episode 5 on Monday night.

Personally, while I wouldn’t say My Troublesome Star was the best romantic comedy this year, it has been very entertaining, while also being a drama with an older main cast (Uhm Jung Hwa, Song Seung Heon, and Lee El) rather than the 20-somethings we often get.

As someone who is no longer in my 20s, I’m always on board for that.

It’s nice then to see the Korean drama’s ratings heading up to the heights they should have grabbed right from its beginning.

International ratings for My Troublesome Star

Interestingly, or not so much if you know about the troll problem on My Drama List, My Troublesome Star is currently earning a crazy low 7.5 out of 10 on that site. A rating from just 398 viewers, I might add.

And a rating that is very likely due to yet another troll attack as, when you look at the comments from viewers actually watching the K-drama versus the ratings, they are overwhelmingly positive with most people lauding My Troublesome Star‘s cast and humor.

Appreciative comments like

Giving old school romcom vibes. I have enjoyed every episode so far. Love the epilogue and band at the end of each episode.

This drama is actually so good and every episode is better than the last. Genuinely loving this.

plus many viewers loving the three musicians who show up at the end of each episode..

I had no idea that I would end up liking this drama. Didn’t know what to think and once I started watching, I am loving the intrigue on the FL missing for 25 years, and why her family and friends turned on her.

One thing I truly like is the band that plays at the end of each episode. It reminds me of the movie, Something about Mary, when the small band would show up and play and sing music.

In other words, as I say to you several times a week, never ever ever trust the ratings on My Drama List (both positive and negative), as they are often either a victim of a troll attack or the result of obsessive fans uprating an only-average drama because their favorite idol stars in it.

My Troublesome Star‘s next episode will air on September 8th on ENA in South Korea, and stream via Viki where, by the way, it is earning a very high 9.1 out of 10 from almost 600 viewers.

Look out for it.
