My Troublesome Star Ep 8 earns HIGHEST ratings – triple those of Ep 1 – as international viewers love the K-drama
Ongoing South Korean romantic comedy My Troublesome Star, Episode 8 earned its highest ratings of its run so far last night.
Data via Nielsen Korea shows My Troublesome Star, Episode 8 grabbed 4.24 percent of the nationwide audience on Tuesday night.
That’s more than triple the rating the ENA drama earned for its first episode (1.3 percent), which is currently the lowest rating of its run.
Audiences in Seoul also reacted positively to the latest episode of the Uhm Jung Hwa, Song Seung Heon, and Lee El-led drama as they also watched it in higher numbers.
That garnered My Troublesome Star, Episode 8 a viewership of 3.88 percent in Seoul — also the highest of its run in that region to date.
International viewers’ on My Troublesome Star
As usual, avoid taking the My Drama List’s ridiculously low ratings seriously (7.6 out of 10) as trolls continue to destroy the reputation of that site.
Instead, read the comments from viewers actually watching My Troublesome Star after Episode 8 aired last night.
Almost all are highly positive, and range from people raving about “that scene” last night:
This drama has some seriously funny moments. And Song Seung Heon in his 50s and still doing naked scene. The man sure is taking care of his body hehe.
to another also obsessing over the drama’s male lead, while still hoping the plot would move along just a little bit faster:
Finally they got Song Seung Heon to lose his shirt. That scene made me laugh so start that I started to cry, especially when she dropped the beers and ran. I can’t believe he’s almost 50!
I do wish that Cheong Ja saw the picture she took with the detective 25 years ago at his place so she finally realizes out who he really is! What a wasted opportunity. Hope the reveal comes next week with all the jealousy over the male actor.
while another is loving Cheong Ja’s transformation, and also looking forward to next week:
That transformation was sooo good also can’t wait for the JEALOUSY SCENE 🤭🖐🏻
Meanwhile, viewers on Viki, where My Troublesome Star is now streaming, are awarding the Korean drama a high 9.1 out of 10, with similarly positive comments:
I would watch the ML read the phone book. Song Seung Heon is gorgeous and a great actor.
with one loving the drama, even though they aren’t particular fans of either main actor:
Surprisingly this drama kept me laughing and wanting for more. I know both actors and not a huge fan. But the acting is good and they have good chemistry.
The wigs the female actress wore could be better done, but this is supposed to be a funny romcom so I am guessing it was intentional ☺️.
And I will agree, the styling on the show is ridiculously over-the-top and horrible.
Not only for Uhm Jung Hwa’s Bong Cheong Ja, but also for Lee El’s portrayal of Ko Hui Yeong, and various supporting characters.
Ignore that, and the awful wigs, though, and the Korean drama itself is fabulously funny and sweet.
The next episode of My Troublesome Star on September 15th on ENA in Korea, and on Viki internationally.
Will its ratings continue to rise? My guess is yes.
