New Turkey! trailer – Rina attacks Mai for “always splitting the pins” in the bowling themed anime

The Summer, 2025 animated series Turkey! got a new trailer today that shows exactly what we can expect in this upcoming bowling-themed anime that has the distinct feel of classic cute girls doing cute things shows like Laid-back Camp, After School Dice Club and Encouragement of Climb.

Not surprisingly really, as Turkey! is animated by Bakken Record, the same folks who created the also-cute-girls series Mou Ippon!, and directed by Susumu Kudou (director of cute-girls-go-cycling anime Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club).

Character designs are also by Airi Takegawa (Mou Ippon!)

Yep, if adorable anime girls involved in fun projects are your bag, it looks like Turkey! could definitely be a winner for you. (And me, as I love these things!).

The Turkey! trailer

The just-released Turkey! trailer does a very nice job of introducing us to the five main members of the Ikkokukan High School bowling club — Nanase Nikaidou, Nozomi Mitaka, Sayuri Ichinose, Rina Godai, and Mai Otonashi.

It also highlights Rina commenting that the club is pointless as they “didn’t win”, followed by her accusing Mai of “deliberating splitting the pins” so they lose.

Yep, I’m betting Rina will be a problem.

It also gives us a short snippet of the anime’s theme song ‘Hyakunichisou‘, which is performed by the five main girls — voice actresses Hana Hiskikawa (Mai), Kana Ichinose (Rina), Haruki Iwata (Sayuri), Yuuki Tenma (Nozomi) and Ayasa Itou (Nanase).

The Turkey! anime plot

According to the original anime’s website, the Turkey! plot looks like this:

Turkey…In bowling slang, it means getting three consecutive strikes.

Mai, a second-year high school student and captain of the Ikkokukan High Bowling Club, is a genius who can’t win a match.

Whenever she wins the Turkey, for some reason she always ends up using the impregnable split, the Snake Eye.

Rina, the only first-year member of the club, tells Mai, “You’re doing that on purpose.” “The captain is running away from winning. I want to win. If you don’t want to win, I’ll quit the club.”

This is the story of the end of summer as the five members of the Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club – Mai, Rina, Sayuri, Nozomi, and Nanase – lose and fight, lose and fight, and finally win.

We don’t have a set release date for the Turkey! anime series as yet, but we do know it hits during the Summer, 2025 anime season.
