The 14th volume of Daisuke Hiyama’s fantasy harem manga Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time has announced that the series will conclude with the release of its 15th volume later in the year.
The manga debuted in August, 2017 and has since spawned two poorly-received anime seasons (Season 1 currently has a 5.52 out of 10 rating on My Anime List, with Season 2 not faring much better with a 5.95), with the second season ending on December 26th, 2022.
Both HIDIVE and Crunchyroll streamed every episode, with Sentai Filmworks licensing the series for distribution in both physical and digital formats.
The anime series has since received a release on Blu-ray via Sentai, with both Season 1 and 2 now available via the platform.
Sentai describes the Peter Grill plot like this:
Peter Grill may be the most powerful warrior in the world, but in a culture where strength is everything, there are lots of ambitious young women who will do anything to “acquire” Peter’s superior genes in order to bear powerful offspring!
So, even though Peter just wants to marry his fiancée, he’s instead being beset by a bodacious bevy of Peter-obsessed females fiercely determined to get into his bed and/or ironclad pants!
That would be a sticky situation even if the bawdy belligerents were merely human, but with elves, trolls and orcs all craving a little private Peter action, can even Peter stand up to this wave of pulchritudinous force?
His flesh may be strong but his will may not hold up quite as rigidly when comely babe after babe keeps coming to test this poor Peter’s mettle.
And yep those are innuendos in that description!
The Peter Grill and the Philospher’s Time manga series is being published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, with 11 volumes already out and Volume 12 due next month. (May)
For English-language readers then, it will still be a while before Volume 15, the final volume is available.
The manga is rated 17+.
