Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love trailer, key visual and cast names drop – rom-com anime premieres in October
Upcoming office-themed romantic comedy anime Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! has a new trailer out, its latest key visual, and four new cast members named.
The anime itself premieres on October 6th in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming it internationally.
Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! trailer shows off quirky anime
The new Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! trailer shows a quirky-looking anime, and nicely introduces protagonist Yumeko Kouda.
An office worker who, after an accident, goes from hating the way she looks to thinking she’s the cutest things since puppies.
We also get to meet Keisuke Yuuki, the handsome guy at work, and the rest of her co-workers and friends, as the trailer hints at more than just romance to come.
New Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! key visual drops
The accompanying new Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! key visual again centers around Yumeko, as she rushes through the office with her upbeat and fun attitude seeming to affect everyone around her.
But, from the side-eye she’s getting from a female co-worker, maybe not always in a good way?
New cast members announced
Four new Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! cast members were also announced. They are:
- Akari Kitou (Erika in A Couple of Cuckoos) plays Saki Tamai
- Tomokazu Sugita (Escanor in The Seven Deadly Sins) is Hiroki Maezono
- Takuya Eguchi (Loid in Spy x Family) voices Yutaka Shigemori
- Eiji Takeuchi (Nobutaka in Tokyo Revengers) is Masahiko Hosoi
The anime, which is based on the manga by mamakari and has already spawned a live-action drama, is being directed by Kazuomi Koga (See You Tomorrow at the Food Court), with Aya Watatane in charge of scripts and series composition, and Atsuko Takahashi (Rainy Cocoa).
It’s being animated by Marvy Jack (The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh ) who, frankly, only have a history of releasing extremely mediocre anime. So we’ll see, eh?
As for the Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! plot, which I hinted at earlier, it officially sounds like this:
“I’m so ugly and fat, but I fell in love with you, who’s so beautiful, and now I’ve been punished for it.” One day, Yumeko, who is riddled with insecurities, gets into a serious accident. She somehow manages to survive, but when she wakes up, she’s a completely different person! “Is this… me…?! So cute!” Those around her can’t help but be shocked and confused by her 180-degree difference…
However, Yumeko’s super positive attitude drastically changes the world around her. Everyone has worries and insecurities. Yumeko cuts through the hidden complexes of each character! In love, work, friendship… and even an attempted murder! A slapstick romantic comedy that will cheer you up when you read it ☆
