Recap of 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Ep 183 – Xu Yang makes Changming Region green again

Is it just me who laughs through every new episode of 100,000 Years of Qi Refining at the antics of Xu Yang?

I mean, I am not usually a gigantic fan of an overpowered MC, and Xu Yang is the God of Overpowered.

But the way he dismisses anyone who gets in his way with the snap of his fingers, followed by their body exploding or skyrocketing into space, is brilliant.

And, of course, this week’s episode of the long-running martial arts donghua is no different than the rest, as you will quickly see in this 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Episode 183 recap.

Xu Yang returns the Changming Region to fertility in 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Episode 183 recap

Tuesday’s episode starts off with Xu Yang still in the Immortal Changming Region where we left him last week trying to return the land to the fertile place it once was before a group of dodgy priests from the Shenguang Sect drained that greenery dry.

The land is dying and Xu Yang doesn’t have enough spirit energy to replenish it

But, while he is trying to cultivate enough energy to re-green the land, and failing due to it having been over-exploited, one of the exiled cultivators he rescued in the previous episode arrives.

He tells Xu Yang he knows where all the spirit grass that was stolen by the Shenguang Sect’s high priest is stored.

When Xu Yang asks him what he wants in return, he simply says “Revenge”.

As you might have guessed, that thrills Xu Yang no end, so he sends the cultivator off to get ready to attack the sect’s high priest.

After all, no episode of 100,000 Years of Qi Refining would be complete without Ancestor Xu getting back at those who have been harmful now, would it?

No, your stolen spirit grass isn’t safe in the Cangmian Pavilion

Next, the scene switches to outside the Shenguang Sect’s Headquarters where a lavish flying ship has just arrived, from which the sect’s supervisor, Master Tu, now disembarks.

He has heard a rumor that a stranger (Xu Yang) is causing trouble, but the high priest who meets him tells him that person has already been dealt with.

Oh, and by the way, we have a load of spirit grass and other goodies stored for you to use.

But, as the pair get close to the Cangmian Pavilion where everything is stored, Xu Yang appears.

And, as two disciples standing outside the pavilion agree that breaking into it would be impossible, Xu Yang explodes the pavilion leaving an enormous crater in the ground and all the spirit grass floating up to be absorbed by the implements he carries with him.

He then kills the two disciples when they try to stop him, as Master Tu and the priest arrive, and the priest also tries to prevent Xu Yang from taking back the spirit grass.

He fails, however, when the cultivator who had led Xu Yang to the pavilion appears, fights the priest and, after Xu Yang massively improves his cultivation with a snap of his fingers, kills the priest.

Yep, that’s what you call “Revenge”. (And don’t you think, if you were Xu Yang, you would be just as cavalier as he is about the life, or usually death, of the scumbags of the planet?)

Master Tu, now seeing how powerful Ancestor Xu is, tells him he will graciously allow him to join the Shenguang Sect.

Xu Yang tells him to go away, and soon Master Tu is being catapulted up into space via another snap of Xu Yang’s fingers.

The episode ends with all the spirit energy from Cangmian Pavilion absorbed into the lotus blossom Xu Yang is carrying, along with the appearance of a beautiful woman who seems to be manipulating it.

The last 30 seconds has Ancestor Xu releasing the spirit energy, and the Immortal Changming Region returning to the lusciously green land it used to be.

Yes, Ancestor Xu is still invincible and his goal to take over all of the Nine Realms now seems to be going swimmingly.

And yes, as usual, this gave me a lovely hit of Xu Yang invincibility that will last me until Saturday when the donghua’s next episode premieres.

Meanwhile, if you watch 100,000 Years of Qi Refining on Chinese streaming platforms, Episode 183 is now streaming.

If you are waiting for it to arrive in the west, however, it will likely be a few days before Episode 183 is released on Tencent Anime’s YouTube channel for subscribers, followed by a release a few days later for everyone else.

Update: You can watch Episode 183 on Tencent’s YouTube channel now.
