I sat up and took notice the minute the first episode of the new supernatural mystery anime series The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei premiered this week.
Not only because I loved the opening animation art style, but because its opening theme song ”Kanojo wa Ima, Meikyu no Naka‘ by Japanese musical group HoneyWorks features my absolute favorite Vocaloid singer, KAF.
The song’s English title, by the way, is ‘She is Now in the Labyrinth’.
Cute The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei visual released
That Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei opening animation has now been released in creditless form, complete with KAF singing ‘Kanojo wa Ima, Meikyu no Naka‘.
And, yep, that makes me happy.
Especially as, along with The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei creditless opening animation, we also got the OP’s official music video, with the track itself also being officially released on Spotify. (And yep, I have been playing the hell out of it all afternoon).

The song itself was released in digital form today, along with a “TV-size track” and its instrumental version.
You can listen to all three via the Spotify widget down below, as well as watch the The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei creditless opening animation down there as well.
The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei premiere details
The anime adaptation of the hit manga series of the same name by Aki Shimizu premiered on April 7th, with its first episode hitting ADN and Ani-One in Asia.
Unfortunately, it has not as yet been picked up by a western streaming service (makes no sense, as it’s excellent so far), so setting sail on the high seas is most people’s only option. At least right now.
We will let you know here on Leo Sigh if that does change in the future.
The anime is directed by Chihiro Kumano (Episode Director of A Couple of Cuckoos), with Atsushi Oka (Onigiri) in charge of series composition, and Masahiko Suzuki (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-) designing the characters.
100studio (Quality Assurance in Another World) is animating the series.
As for the The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei, the first volume of the manga explains it like this:
On the day she advances to her second year at the newly established high school, Kanna Kusakabe meets the new Japanese literature instructor, Akihiko Chūzenji.
But, Professor Chūzenji always has a sour look on his face as he reads his books.
Now, this unlikely duo—a teacher and his student—must confront a series of bizarre and eerie incidents:
—The ghost in the library, the blue paper and the red paper, the blue cloak—!A tale of youth, the supernatural, and mystery set in the early Shōwa era!

Obsessed with anime and manga. Desperate for time to stop with only me left moving in the world. Then I’d have the time needed to watch the 543 anime DVDs I own, and read the more than 1,000 manga.
