Two fan-favorite VAs bring even more magic to the fantasy series as anticipation builds for 2025 premiere
The upcoming fantasy anime Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! (aka Mushoku no Eiyuu: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakatta n da ga) continues to build excitement with the announcement that voice acting stars Saori Hayami and Sumire Uesaka are joining the cast.
Hayami will voice the cool and composed warrior Raina, while Uesaka takes on the role of the lively and mysterious Lilia.
Alongside the announcement via the anime’s X account, the production team also released official character designs for both, giving fans a first look at their detailed appearances and personalities.
The Hero Without a Class plot
The series is based on the light novel by Shichio Kuzu, illustrated by Yumehito Ueda, and follows the story of Arel, the son of legendary heroes—Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon.
In a world where magical skills and combat classes determine one’s destiny, Arel is shockingly declared “Classless” at the age of ten.
Despite having no assigned class or magical skills, Arel refuses to accept defeat and begins forging his own path, relying on sheer determination, knowledge, and hard-earned strength.
Why Hero Without a Class sounds interesting
Hero Without a Class is a story of quiet defiance and individual will in a society obsessed with innate talent and hierarchy.
Arel’s journey takes him through city tournaments, encounters with mythical beasts, and run-ins with powerful nobles.
All while hiding the fact that he’s actually turned out to be secretly stronger than most classed adventurers.
Nothing mind-blowing in the world of fantasy anime, but a solid story nevertheless.
The anime is being animated by Studio A-CAT (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wiseman), and is directed by Kaoru Yabana (episode director The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army Was a Human).
It is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
With a growing cast of well-known voice talents and interesting source material, Hero Without a Class could shape up to be a solid fantasy anime hit.
