Shin’s Project Ep 1 premieres as highest rated Monday/Tuesday drama on tvN in 2025
As a big fan of the utterly brilliant Korean actor Han Suk Kyu, I am thrilled to see the just premiered Shin’s Project, Episode 1 kick off last night to the highest ratings for a tvN drama in the Monday/Tuesday time slot this year so far.
Those ratings, according to Nielsen Korea, were 5.92 percent nationwide and an even higher 6.45 percent in Seoul.
Excellent ratings already, and also higher ratings than the first episodes of The Queen Who Crowns, My Dearest Nemesis, The Divorce Insurance, Second Shot at Love, Head Over Heels, and Love, Take Two.
Preliminary reaction of international viewers to Shin’s Project
While My Drama List (MDL) has not yet listed a rating for Shin’s Project (thank God, as that usually means the K-drama isn’t being attacked by trolls), the comments from viewers watching it are overwhelmingly positive so far.
They range from the short and sweet:
Finally, a fun drama i don’t feel like dropping.
to others loving Han Seok Kyu as much as I do:
I can already put 10 bcz of Han Seok Kyu.
Simping aside, the story is kinda cool. A mysterious backstory for the ML with a wtf side of himthat is quite funny 🤣. The youngsters are endearing. Kinda feeling a fiery priest vibe in a sense that we have a mix of comedy and serious moment. Luv it so far.
and another commenting on how fun Shin’s Project, Episode 1 was to watch:
Chicken shop owner Mr Shin, mystery chaotic, funny, first episode was packed with whole lot of chicken seasoning and crunchy coating of action fun. Looking forward to next episode 😀
Shin’s Project stars Han Suk Kyu, Bae Hyeon Seong, and Lee Re, and will run for 12 episodes, with Episode 2 dropping later on tonight.
The second episode of Shin’s Project earned even higher ratings – Yay!
Unfortunately, for many of us in the west, Shin’s Project has not been legally licensed to stream on any platform we have access to.
It is streaming on Viu, however, if your country has access to that platform.
