Tales of Herding Gods, Ep 9 trailer has Mu becoming stronger as he digs into The Great Wasteland’s history

The Tales of Herding Gods, Episode 9 trailer is out, with the episode itself due to premiere later on this week.

As you might remember, in Episode 8, we left protagonist Qin My having stolen treasure from the temple that was guarded by the demon, and then broken through his cultivation so that his Overlord Body has finally awoken.

The rest of the episode we saw Mu being trained by Grandpa Blind in new “eye techniques”, while also giving him a lecture about the stone statues that protect the village.

Finally reminding the boy, he should never bow down to anyone. Including the gods.

Personally, I thought Episode 8 and the previous one were beautifully animated but still nothing more than time fillers — especially coming after the high action and drama of the donghua’s previous three episodes.

But, as they are based on a Chinese novel that is equally slow-moving, that is understandable.

I have a feeling, however, those episodes set us up for something far more interesting in Tales of Herding Gods, Episode 9 as the just-released trailer seems to suggest.

In it, we see Mu becoming more and more powerful, as he also begins to travel further afield and dig into the history of both the village elders and The Great Wasteland that surrounds them.

Like previous episodes, the Tales of Herding Gods, Episode 9 trailer showcases the donghua’s stunning art style, fluid animation, and its superb soundtrack.
