The first teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming Chinese historical mystery thriller Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Qing Wu Feng Ming (aka The Mysterious Case of the Tang Palace: The Sound of the Blue Mist and Wind or 唐宫奇案之青雾风鸣), and the cinematography, art style and, quite frankly, wildly disturbing plot, in it look amazing.
The C-drama stars Bai Lu (Moonlight Mystique) and Wang Xingyue (The Double) in the lead roles, and is adapted from the Chinese novel of the same name written by Sen Linlu (森林鹿).
It is being directed by Yin Tao (Love of the Divine Tree and The Blood of Youth), with scripts by screenwriter Meng Yang (Three-Body).

The new Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Qing Wu Feng Ming teaser trailer arrived via the official YOUKU X account and their YouTube channel, along with the short message:
#唐宫奇案之青雾风鸣 The first teaser is here!Li Peiyi (#BaiLu) stuns as the fierce “ghost bride” in red, while Xiao Huaijin (#WangXingyue) rides in on a black horse—mysterious and captivating! Can’t wait to see it!
What is the Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Qing Wu Feng Ming plot?
According to Chinese news media, the plot of the historical mystery thriller goes like this:
On the night of the Shangyuan Festival, Princess Ningyuan meets a mysterious death during the palace banquet. Li Peiyi (played by Bai Lu), a sharp-witted investigator from the Internal Surveillance Bureau, and Xiao Huaijin (Wang Xingyue), an astute astrologer-official from the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, are tasked with uncovering the truth.
A peerless martial artist with a keen eye for human nature, Li Peiyi is cool-headed yet righteous, relentlessly pursuing justice.
For her, solving a case is not just about uncovering facts—it’s a battle of wits against the killer. Partnered with the meticulous Xiao Huaijin, they peel back layers of deception, navigating through a domineering noblewoman and a secretive Imperial Guard commander, ultimately exposing the murderer.
But this is only the beginning. A series of bizarre palace mysteries unfolds within the Tang Dynasty’s inner court:
“Flowers on the Wall”
“Bloodstained Talent”
“Secrets of the Auspicious Hour”
“The Seven Stars Mishap”
And, strangely, each case intertwines with the fates of women in the imperial harem.
As Li and Xiao delve deeper, they uncover the truth behind the massacre of the Li family fifteen years ago, unraveling a dark conspiracy at the highest levels of power.
Yep, Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Qing Wu Feng Ming is basically palace-intrigue-meets-forensic-investigation in Tang-era China, and I am all in for it!
Unfortunately, while Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Qing Wu Feng Ming looks amazing, the Chinese drama is not slated to premiere until some time in 2026. Boo!
