Big news for fans of the highly-rated supernatural detective game The Case Book of Arne this week, as an anime adaptation has been announced.
Not only an adaptation, but one that looks like it will feature some of the cutest and most mischievous of characters.
At least if the just-released announcement and celebration art is anything to go by.
That art, btw, just came out on the anime’s official X account, with the account publishing a cute visual of vampire detective Arne Neuntöte and his assistant Lynn Reinweiß (see below).
An assistant who is a nobleman’s daughter, by the way, but has a thing for vampires.
A celebratory illustration was also released by Harutarou, the character designer for the original game, showing even more of the upcoming anime’s adorably mischievous-looking characters in their celebratory visual (below)
Harutarou will be the character designer on the upcoming anime, so these cute characters will be truly loyal to the original. Yay!
What’s The Case Book of Arne plot about?
As for the plot of The Case Book of Arne, Steam, where the game the anime is based on is available, describes its plot like this:
Arne Neuntöte is a vampire detective who manipulates supernatural powers. Lynn Reinweiß is a nobleman’s daughter who loves vampires. Their worlds should never have crossed, but they join hands to solve a bloody mystery.
But, in the darkest of nights, Lynn finds herself in desperate need of help. Then she wanders into the mysterious city of “Lügenberg”, where non-humans live. Lynn’s world then changes drastically when she encounters “Arne”, a vampire who is called “the worst” in the city.
And tonight, a new “murder case” has occurred. What is the truth behind the bizarre incidents that take place in a world where humanity and the bizarre intersect?
“Come on, human. You may dance merrily under the crimson moon.”
You can buy the original The Case Book of Arne game, by the way, on Steam for under 10 bucks/10 euros.
