For me, the two main voice actors in Sasaki and Miyano were one of the best parts of an absolutely superb anime series, as they voiced those two lovely boys perfectly.
The voice actor who plays Sasaki Shuumei, though, was my absolute favorite, as I loved his slow way of talking, and how his voice has a slightly rough edge to it that comes off as quite sexy.
So, who is the voice actor who plays Sasaki Shuumei in Sasaki and Miyano?
And did you know he is one of the craziest, most chaotic Japanese voice actors out there so, no, not anything like Sasaki in real life at all.
Who voices Sasaki in the original Japanese Sasaki and Miyano?
The actor who plays the sweet, laid-back and ever-patient Sasaki is Yusuke Shirai — (aka Shirai Yūsuke, 白井 悠介).
Shirai is a part of the Early Wing agency, and has been providing the voice for a slew of anime characters since 2011/2012 when, among other roles, he played Terashima in My Little Monster.
Yusuke Shirai just turned 36-years-old on January 18th. He decided to train as a voice actor after his brother was also training for the same profession.
Some of Shirai’s major anime roles include:
- Io Naruko in Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!
- Yamato Nikaidou in IDOLiSH7
- Tama Okamoto in Uchitama?! Have you seen my Tama?
- Masumi Usui in A3! Season Spring & Summer
- Sentouin Roku-gou in Combatants Will Be Dispatched
- Chiaki Takimoto in Salaryman’s Club

Yusuke Shirai’s YouTube channel
Along with his work as a voice actor, Yusuke Shirai also runs his own YouTube channel where he currently has more than 38 million views from videos he uploads that he says are just ‘fun’.
And yes, Shirai has a reputation for being a bit crazy and chaotic, which you will see if you watch any of his videos including the one below where he shows off the things he bought on Amazon.
Yep, he’s nuts! 🙂

And by the way, listen closely to his voice as he talks, and you will hear that slightly grating edge to his voice that Sasaki has popping up now and again.
An edge I really love.
