Wind Breaker, Season 2’s recent character introspection is soon flipping back to brawling
One of the many wonderful things about the second season of Wind Breaker is that, after its initial explosive fight scene in the first couple of episodes with KEEL, it has concentrated more on the personal lives of its main characters in its more recent episodes.
So far, we have gotten an in-depth and incredibly touching look at Sakura’s background, and so learned why he behaves the way he does.
That was followed by Wind Breaker, Episode 6 this weekend, in which we got a look at the childhood of the now femininely and beautifully-dressed Tasuku Tsubaki as he realized how different he was from his classmates.
That introspection is about to change, however, as Season 2 of Wind Breaker will soon be heading into the long-awaited Roppo Ichiza arc, and brawling becomes the order of the day again.
The Wind Breaker Roppo Ichiza arc gets a video teaser
The upcoming arc is also the subject of a just-released teaser video that hit today (watch below), and that starts off with a rundown of what we’ve seen in Wind Breaker, Season 2 so far.
Especially where KEEL is concerned.
That’s followed by Sakura, Suou and Nirei in the town’s red light district as a girl falls from a balcony above. Saved by Sakura, her rescue is short-lived before several gang members show up telling the Bofurin members they need to hand her back.
A fight then breaks out until the arrival of Roppo Ichiza — bodyguards for the girls, and mediators in fights — and soon staunch allies of Bofurin in their war against KEEL and other nasty rival gang Noroshi.
Yep, it’s time for the Roppo Ichiza arc and, man, this one is a good one.
The trailer also introduces new characters Kanji Nakamura (voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu) and Shizuka Narita (Reina Ueda).
In anticipation of the arc, a Roppo Ichiza visual was also released with the tagline “Stand Together, Protect This Town!” (above) via the anime’s official X English-language account.
Enjoy the visual and the Roppo Ichiza arc trailer.
The arc will kick off in Wind Breaker, Season 2, Episode 7, which is due to drop on Thursday, May 15th via Crunchyroll. Look forward to it, as this one is epic.
