The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the popular manga series Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii finally has a premiere date — October 2024.
Fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the anime adaptation’s premiere since the anime was announced in late 2023, and we got that earlier today.
The anime is based on the romantic crime drama manga, which is written and illustrated by Asuka Konishi, and began publishing in 2017.
The series has since gained a strong following, with the manga selling a cumulative 2.8 million copies so far, and that is before the anime even arrives.

The anime adaptation is being produced by Studio DEEN (KonoSuba), with Toshifumi Kawase (Washimo) serving as the director.
Rika Takasugi (Oooku) is overseeing and writing the series scripts, Itsuko Takeda (Black Clover) is designing the characters, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Dr. Stone and Tokyo Revengers) and Masato Suzuki (Takunomi) are composing the music.
The main voice cast includes Hitomi Ueda (Michiko in Chainsaw Man) as Yoshino Somei, and Akira Ishida (Shun in Tribe Nine) as Kirishima Miyama.
Character illustrations of both main characters were also released today.
Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii plot
The story follows Yoshino Somei, the protected granddaughter of the head of the Osaka-based Somei Group, the Kansai region’s largest yakuza organization.
However, her life takes an unexpected turn when her grandfather signs a truce with the Tokyo-based Miyama crime family and, as part of that truce, offers her hand in marriage to the Miyama leader’s grandson, Kirishima.
A man who initially appears kind and charming, until, of course, you get him behind closed doors and then…
Of course, once Yoshino moves into the Miyama family’s compound, that is when Kirishima’s true nature becomes clear.
The anime is set to premiere in October, 2024.
