Listen to Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ from This World Can’t Tear Me Down, Ep 2 as Zero is at game store with his friends

British rock band Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ was played on the new season of This World Can’t Tear Me Down (the sequel to Tear Along the Dotted Line) this week — This World Can’t Tear Me Down, Season 1, Episode 2, “Come una balena spiaggiata“.

The song was heard on the second episode of the animated show as Zero and his friends are playing at the game store.

Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ was released by the now-iconic English band back in 1996 as the fifth single from their second studio album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which came out on the now defunct indie record label Creation.

The song is notable in Oasis history not only for its amazing success, but also because it was sung by Noel Gallagher — the first track he ever sung lead vocals on.

The success of Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ and its music history

As for the success of ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘, the song skyrocketed to #1 on the UK Singles chart, as well as to #1 in Scotland and Ireland.

Around the rest of the world, the cool Britpop track charted high in 16 countries and went on to become the song that Oasis performed live at concerts for years afterwards, right up to when the band broke up in 2009.

The feel good song also went down in music history in the United Kingdom and around the world.

That occurred when, after the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing perpetrated by an Islamic extremist after an Ariana Grande concert, the song was sung during several events as a way to remember the bombing’s 22 victims and to say about the city, “We won’t look back in anger, but instead look forward to the future”.

Listen to Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger‘ as heard on the new Netflix series This World Can’t Tear Me Down in the song’s music video, and on Spotify.

All six episodes of This World Can’t Tear Me Down are now streaming on Netflix worldwide.
