Dog Knows Everything Ep 1 kicks Kdrama off with strong ratings – higher than Perfect Family

New KBS2 drama Dog Knows Everything, Episode 1 aired in South Korea last night to extremely strong ratings in both the nationwide and regional ratings.

According to the latest data from Nielsen Korea, Dog Knows Everything, Episode 1 earned 4.2 percent of the viewership nationwide.

That rating is a marked increase from the first episode of its predecessor Perfect Family, which aired in the same time slot on KBS2 and kicked off its run with a 2.6 percent audience share on August 14th.

Meanwhile, the first episode of Dog Knows Everything also performed well in Seoul where it grabbed 4.0 percent of the viewership.

In other words, if the new KBS2 drama performs similarly with its second episode tonight, it could indicate another hit for the Korean network.

What is the Dog Knows Everything plot?

Viki, who is streaming the Korean drama internationally, explains the plot like this:

Lee Soon Jae, the nation’s actor who had long made people laugh and cry, is known to be sensitive and strict in real life. He also made people uncomfortable with his words and actions in pursuit of perfection.

Sophie was a police dog who had collected evidence for three years but retired due to an injury. One day, Sophie encounters Soon Jae, who can communicate with him. Sophie delivers clues to Soon Jae regarding the various mysteries that occur in the village.

Soon Jae, who believed he was now useless, takes on a new challenge with Sophie. The duo collaborates with fellow senior friends to show the greatest achievements of their lives!
