New MBC Friday/Saturday drama Doubt premiered last night in South Korea to very high ratings for a drama on that channel.
Considering those nationwide ratings for the Han Suk Kyu-led drama were also double the ratings its very successful predecessor Black Out earned for its first episode (2.8 percent), this could mean MBC, and the actor, have another drama hit on their hands.
Yay! Freaking yay. (Shoot me. I love Han Suk Kyu).
Those numbers via Nielsen Korea show Doubt, Episode 1 earning 5.6 percent in the nationwide ratings, with 5.5 percent of the audience share in the Seoul viewing region.
Excellent ratings for a first episode, and ratings that bode well for the psychological mystery thriller if the rest of its 10-episode run is as good as its first episode.
Comments from international viewers for Doubt, Episode 1
Comments from viewers on various platforms watching Doubt, Episode 1 outside Korea are also very positive.
They range from
Great first episode! I was missing Black Out so this fell right in line for me!
to
What a start! Episode 1 really pulled me in from the get-go!
and
Exceptionally good Korean drama so far. Han Suk Kyu always turns in a great performance, but he might have just outdone himself with Doubt. Excited for Episode 2.
and even a comment regarding Doubt versus other MBC dramas
MBC has really given me some really nice psychological thrillers right from Wonderful World to Black Out and now this….
Episode one was solid..it set the basis of the story and the acting is Sooooo good…we’re in for a ride!
Doubt (aka 이토록 친밀한 배신자 in Korea or ‘The Intimate Traitor‘) stars Han Suk Kyu (star of Dr. Romantic), Chae Won Bin (My Lovely Boxer), Han Ye Ri (Hometown), and Oh Yeon Soo (Military Prosecutor Doberman).
Episode 2 airs later on tonight on MBC in S. Korea, and with the Korean drama then running every Friday and Saturday evening through November 9th.
The Korean mystery suspense thriller is streaming outside South Korea on Viki in some regions, and on KOCOWA in others.
