Wind Breaker 2 gets premiere date, trailer, visual – not long before Bofurin deals with KEEL

The official X account for the hit delinquent-themed anime series Wind Breaker has just announced the premiere date for Season 2 and, while yep there is a bit of a wait, it could be a lot worse.

That Wind Breaker, Season 2 premiere date is some time in April, 2025, with a new teaser trailer and visual also released.

So it’s six months-ish then before we get to see the outcome of the final scenes of Episode 13 of Season 1 when the members of Bofurin, led by Sakura, head out en masse to help Anzai’s friend after he is being bullied by rival gang KEEL. (see illustration above)

Because, sure, Anzai might have felt as if he should deal with his childhood friend’s problems himself, but Sakura is having none of it. Neither are any of the other members of Bofurin.

Wind Breaker 2 visual features the season’s pivotal characters

The Wind Breaker Season 2 teaser trailer also announced voice actor Ryota Osaka (Sadao in The Devil is a Part-Timer!) is joining the cast as Tasuku Tsubakino, one of Furin High’s recently introduced Four Kings. (see character design below)

Just like Season 1, Wind Breaker 2 is based on the popular manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Nii.

That manga is being published in English by Kodansha US, with Volume 1 releasing on April, 26, 2022 and Volume 17 hitting shelves tomorrow, October 15th, 2024 (only in a digital edition at the moment, but a print edition should be on its way soon).

Toshifumi Akai is back directing Season 2 of the action anime, with Hiroshi Seko again in charge of series composition, and Taishi Kawakami also returning as both character designer and chief animation director.

CloverWorks, who did a phenomenal job with Season 1, will again be animating Season 2.
