The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter gets trailer, visual, more cast and premiere date
Paint me probably a bit over excited that the upcoming Boys’ Love anime The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter has just got a new trailer, a key visual, more cast and a January, 2026 premiere date.
But, as an obsessive BL fan, it is what it is, eh?
The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter trailer is nothing special, as it just gives us a quick, teasing look at protagonists, and cute BL couple, Aresh Indolark and Seiichirou Kondou.
But, just to see the pair moving and in the flesh (well, sort of) is enough for me.
The new The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter visual also features the two men, while the anime’s X account it was released on reminds viewers the light novel series the anime is based on has already sold more than 2 million copies, and counting.
The account also commented:
The ice-cold nobleman versus the efficiency-obsessed salaryman weave a hugely popular otherworld BL story.
It then introduced the four voice actors playing four of the anime’s main characters.
They are:
- Tomoaki Maeno (Yamanbagiri Kunihiro in Touken Ranbu Kai) who is voicing Aresh Indolark
- Kento Itou (Kinto in Twilight Out of Focus) who plays Seiichiro Kondo
- Seiichiro Yamashita (Masugu Tateishi in I Have a Crush at Work) as Norbert
- Hiroki Touchi (Nicolai in Eternal Boys) playing Kamil
The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter anime production details
The fantasy isekai BL anime is being directed by Shinji Ishihara (Sasaki and Miyano), with Yoshiko Nakamura (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) in charge of series composition, and Maki Fujii (Sasaki and Miyano) designing the characters.
Studio Deen, who is already experienced in BL anime with its gorgeous animation of Sasaki and Miyano, is animating.
The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter also has an unusual plot. Boys’ Love or otherwise:
Seiichiro Kondo, age 29, was just an ordinary salaryman—until the day he got swept up in a holy maiden summoning and found himself in another world.
As a former assistant section chief in the accounting department, his workaholic instincts ran deep, and even in this new world, he demanded “work.” But all they gave him was a mindless task—rubber-stamping outrageous budget requests in the palace’s notoriously lax “Embezzlement Division.”
Furious at the inefficiency, Seiichiro sets out to reform the accounting department! Amidst his crusade, he discovers a miraculous “stamina-boosting potion” that banishes fatigue—no more stomachaches, migraines, or numb shoulders! He can work harder than ever!
But this otherworldly potion comes with a deadly side effect, and now, with zero magic power, the only way to survive is to have someone with magic… insert it into him.
“Fine, if it’ll save me,” Seiichiro readily accepts his fate—only to find himself at the mercy of the devastatingly handsome, stoic Third Knight Captain, Alesh (♂).
With zero communication and endless misunderstandings, this workaholic BL comedy will have you in stitches!
Check out the teaser trailer for the upcoming BL anime and you’ll see, if you’re as obsessed with BL as I am, this one has two of the cutest guys (and one of the hottest guys!) of them all.
