A Virtuous Business Ep 12 hits all-time high ratings with big increase as K-drama ends

The Korean drama A Virtuous Business, Episode 12 ended the musical-themed series last night with a massive increase in its ratings and its largest audience yet.

Data via Nielsen Korea shows A Virtuous Business earned 8.58 percent nationwide in South Korea.

That is a big increase from the 5.72 percent it earned the night before. A rating that was the K-drama’s highest Saturday rating of its run, by the way.

In Seoul, the largely female cast drama also hit new heights, grabbing 9.07 percent compared to the previous evening’s 5.84 percent.

In other words, as I predicted yesterday, A Virtuous Business went out with the big bang this superbly-written, beautifully-acted Korean drama has deserved since its first episode aired on October 12th.

With the JTBC series being one of two K-dramas running at the same time that featured an almost all-female cast — the other being Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born — we now have proof that Korean women can actually bring in the big ratings numbers, eh?

It is also a drama that has not only performed extremely well in South Korea, but one that also made it onto the Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart twice.

And, when that platform’s latest viewing data is released tomorrow (Tuesday), I would not be surprised to see it show up on the chart for a third time.

A Virtuous Business stars Kim So Yeon, Yeon Woo Jin, Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Sun Young, and Lee Se Hee.

You can now watch all 12 episodes via Netflix.

And personally, I would like to thank the director, the writer, the cast and crew of A Virtuous Business for all the work they put in, as this one has been one of the Korean delights of 2024.
