Garena Free Fire trailer and visual featuring Kelly show off what may be a hugely successful anime
Garena Free Fire anime based on one of most successful ever mobile games
If there was ever a new anime that’s likely to be a big hit — as long as it is animated and written well — it is the upcoming action adventure anime Garena Free Fire.
Based on one of the biggest free-to-play mobile games of recent years, if the Garena Free Fire anime is only a fraction as popular as the game it’s based on, it will be huge.
A game that had over 150 million daily players in 2021, had earned well over $5 billion in revenue by 2022 and, even eight years after the game was first released, still hovers around 100 million users a day today.
Yep, all that and more sets the new Garena Free Fire anime up for huge success.
As long as animation studio CANDY BOX (Blue Archive: The Animation) does its part in creating an anime worth watching. Fingers crossed.
Garena Free Fire trailer drops
With today’s release of a Garena Free Fire trailer, that success looks a little bit closer as, while we don’t learn much about the anime’ plot or characters, we do get a glimpse of protagonist Kelly (one of the game’s most popular characters), and the anime’s smooth animation — which appears to be very nicely done.
Throw in that the art style is beautiful and, even for me, someone who hasn’t played Garena Free Fire, the anime is a definite must check out.
The accompanying Garena Free Fire visual also has Kelly front and center — well… falling through the air on her way to uncover a hidden conspiracy.

And no, according to players of the game, anime Kelly doesn’t look anything like game Kelly (check out the screenshot from the game below, and compare her to Kelly in the trailer — little similarity, right?).

But, come on guys, it is an anime and, if we don’t have at least one loli to oggle over, what’s the point, eh?
Garena Free Fire production details
Ken Takahashi (Ragna Crimson director and Episode Director on anime like Fate/Grand Order, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen) is directing the anime adaptation, with the aforementioned Studio CANDY BOX (Breakers, Azur Lane and Blue Archive) in charge of animation.
No word yet on the anime’s premiere date, but we’ll keep you updated.
