Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung to dazzle audiences in Sejak, The Enchanted

Korean actors Jo Jung Suk And Shin Se Kyung have now been confirmed to be starring in Sejak, The Enchanted, an upcoming historical drama due out in 2024.

Jo Jung Suk is playing the lead role of King Lee In, while Shin Se Kyung will play Kang Hee Soo.

The new K-drama is written by Kim Sung Deok (The Crowned Clown), and tells the story of King Lee In who is caught between royal and political power struggles.

Then along comes Kang Hee Soo, a woman who decides to get revenge on the King for something he has supposedly done in the past, only to find herself being seduced instead.

Jo Nam Gook (The Good Detective) is directing the series.

Sejak, The Enchanted will also feature Jo Sung Ha (Agency), Choi Dae Hoon (One Dollar Lawyer), Jung Suk Yong (Inspector Koo) and Lee Kyu Hoe (My Perfect Stranger) in supporting roles.

Let’s face it though, it is Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung most eyes will be on, as these two superb actors sharing one small screen will obviously dazzle the eye and the ear.

Jo Jung Suk returns to small screen after Hospital Playlist

If you have been watching less recent dramas, it may not seem that long since Jo Jung Suk has been on the small screen.

In fact, the 42-year-old actor has not starred in a K-drama since 2021, when he returned to play Lee Ik Jun in Hospital Playlist, Season 2.

Before that, he starred in the first season of Hospital Playlist, 2019’s The Nokdu Flower and 2017’s Two Cops.

The Korean actor also played lead roles in the recent movies The Land of Happiness, Pilot, Exit, Hit-and-Run Squad and The Drug King.

His role in the upcoming Sejak, The Enchanted then will be Jo Jung Suk’s first drama in two years.

Shin Se Kyung’s continues her historical storytelling

On the other hand, Shin Se Kyung is right off the back of starring in the just ended historical fantasy Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun for tvN, so Sejak, The Enchanted will be her second drama this year.

As she also exels in historical projects as both her looks and demeanor seem to suit them perfectly, it will be nice to see her back continuing her historical storytelling in Sejak, The Enchanted as well.

The 33-year-old actress is also known for her roles in Run On, 2019’s Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me, The Bride of Habaek, and Six Flying Dragons.

On the movie front, Shin Se Kyung was recently the star of a documentary about her life called Another Record.

Sejak, The Enchanted will be a weekend drama, and is due to premiere in January, 2024 on tvN, although a specific date has not yet been announced.

We will keep you informed as soon as we find out.
