Korean drama My Dearest, Episode 8 aired last night earning its highest Saturday ratings since the historical drama premiered on August 4th.
According to Nielsen Korea, My Dearest, Episode 8 grabbed 10.3 percent of the audience, which is 1.5 percent higher than the show’s previous Saturday rating, and 6.0 percent higher than its first Saturday episode on August 5th.
In Seoul, the historical drama saw similar numbers, with Episode 8 earning 9.9 percent of the audience share, an increase of 1.6 percent over its previous Saturday rating.
My Dearest’s international audience
As the MBC drama sees increasing audiences in South Korea, the international audience for My Dearest is also proving just how much they enjoy the show with high personal ratings across a number of online platforms.
Users of My Drama List, for instance, are currently rating the show an 8.6 out of 10 personal rating.
That figure includes the small number who have already dropped the show, but when you look at those people still watching each new episode, the rating increases to 8.85 out of 10 — a crazy high rating for that site.
Over on Viki, where the drama streams new episodes twice a week, My Dearest is rated a 9.8 out of 10, while users of IMDB are also rating the Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin-led drama a 9.5 out of 10.
The final two episodes of the first part of My Dearest will air on MBC TV next Friday and Saturday evening at at 21:50 (KST), with both Viki and Kocowa airing them for international viewers.
The drama will then take a one-month break, before returning with its second half some time in October.
