Nina the Starry Bride has new trailer, key visual, new cast members and a premiere date

Upcoming fantasy romance anime Nina the Starry Bride has a new trailer, key visual, two new cast members and a premiere date.

The new two-minute long Nina the Starry Bride trailer shows Nina being taken by Prince Azure Seth Fortna as a stand-in for his now deceased half-sister Alisha, as well as Nina’s feelings as she realizes she has fallen in love with him.

We then see Sett, the tyrant prince of Galgada Kingdom, kidnapping Nina and vowing to make her his own.

The anime is based on the award-winning manga Hoshifuru Oukoku no Nina by Rikachi, which has been published since October, 2019.

It currently has 13 volumes out in Japanese as of April this year, with Kodansha USA releasing 12 of those volumes so far in English.

The manga’s plot is magnificently explained by My Anime List like this:

Five years ago, a plague wiped out a great part of the land of Fortna’s population. Nina, a girl with unique, deep-blue eyes, counts her parents among the casualties of the pandemic. In order to survive, she teams up with a pair of fellow orphans and begins to steal from the wealthy.

Unfortunately, Nina’s life is struck by tragedy again as she finds herself being abducted by a group of mysterious men.

Her main captor turns out to be none other than Azure Seth Fortna, the second-born prince of the royal family. His half-sister Alisha—a reclusive priestess-princess—perished in an accident before she was to be married off to the crown prince of the neighboring kingdom of Galgada.

Although Nina does not resemble the late princess in the slightest, they do share one characteristic: their one-of-a-kind eye color. With the intention of preventing a war between the two kingdoms, Azure plans to use Nina under the false pretense that she is the real Alisha.

With nothing else to lose, Nina reluctantly accepts the prince’s proposition to replace his late sister. Pretending to be royalty is not an easy feat, but Azure aids Nina until her departure. The fate of two nations rests on Nina’s shoulders—and she will make sure the stars are on her side.

The new Nina the Starry Bride key visual, which was released via the anime’s X account, shows Nina front and center looking beautiful and happy while Azure and Sett appear to be about to start a duel over her.

Other characters from the new anime appear around them.

Two new Nina the Starry Bride characters and their voice actors were also announced today. They are:

Daitus who is being voiced by Tatsuya Tomizawa (Naomichi in Ace of Diamond Act II) and Muhulum who is played by Nao Touyama (Rin in Laid-Back Camp).

The Nina the Starry Bride anime is being directed by Kenichirou Komaya (Shinkalion: Change the World), who hopefully does a better job than he did with both Shinkalion and Kizuna no Allele.

Yuka Yamada (Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence) is in charge of series composition, while Kyouko Takeya (Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs) is designing the characters.

As for the premiere date for Nina the Starry Bride, it has now been announced as October 10th.

This one looks fabulous. Mark your calendars.
