Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter’s Ellie gets cute character visual – although she’s a bit cold

The upcoming fantasy anime series Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter (aka Koujo Denka no Kateikyoushi) has a new character visual out.

This time, it’s Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter’s Ellie, who is protagonist Tina Howard’s maid and best friend.

In the new character video, which was released on the anime’s official X account early this morning, we see Ellie who is obviously a little cold, sitting outside on a step with a thick scarf wrapped around her neck.

She is still smiling, though, so probably doesn’t feel that bad.

The visual came with the comment:

“Thank you, Professor Allen… Ehehe.”

who I’m presuming gave her the scarf (?), along with a reminder that Ellie is voiced by Kyouka Moriya (Shiho Kano in Cue!).

The visual follows on from the one for protagonist Tina Howard that we got last week.

Production details for Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter

The fantasy anime is being animated by Studio Blanc (The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World).

It is based on the light novel series written by Riku Nanano, which has been an extremely popular series in Japan with 19 volumes already published.

J-Novel publishes it in English.

It stars Hime Sawada as Tina Howard, Ikumi Hasegawa voices Lydia Leinster, and Yuuto Uemura who plays Allen.

As for the anime’s staff, Nobuyoshi Nagayama (Vampire Directory) is directing, with Megumi Shimizu (Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside) in charge of series composition, and Akiko Toyoda (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) designing the characters.

As for its plot, J-Novel describes it like this:

After failing the final exam for his dream job at the royal court, promising young sorcerer Allen wants nothing more than to retreat to a simple life in the countryside.

Unfortunately for him, he can’t even afford the train fare! His only solution is to get a job, but his one lead is anything but modest—Duke Howard, one of the kingdom’s most powerful nobles, needs a private tutor for his daughter Tina.

Despite her academic brilliance, Tina is incapable of casting even a single spell. To make matters worse, entrance exams for the prestigious Royal Academy are fast approaching, and magical aptitude is mandatory!

Can Allen use his unique brand of spellcasting to help Tina overcome her magical impairment, a mystery that not even the kingdom’s finest sorcerers have been able to solve? And does her father, the duke, even want him to?

Mark your must-watch anime list for July, 2025, as that’s when its first episode drops.

Update: A new visual for Lydia Leinster, the talented swordswoman who loves to tease Allen, has also been released as well as a character video for protagonist Allen, and one for Lydia’s sister Lynee.
