The ongoing tvN medical drama Resident Playbook, Episode 4 aired in South Korea on Sunday night, grabbing its highest ratings yet.
Data via Nielsen Korea shows the fourth episode of Resident Playbook earned 5.13 percent of the nationwide audience share — up from Saturday night’s 4.47 percent for Episode 3.
The Korean drama also performed superbly with audiences in Seoul, where it garnered an even higher 5.76 percent of that region’s viewership, compared to its previous episode’s 5.06 percent.
The tvN drama was also #1 in its time slot in both regions.
Of course, the expected cameo appearance of Hospital Playlist star Jung Kyung Ho in last night’s episode was likely a draw as well.
International reaction to Resident Playbook after Episode 4
The Korean drama has also been experiencing ever increasing ratings on websites like My Drama List where, due to the usual trolls on the site, it kicked off with a very low 7.8 out of 10 after Episode 1 premiered.
That crazy low rating, however, has since been rectified with Resident Playbook now sitting comfortably with an 8.3 out of 10 on the site over the last week or so.
Throw in that it is currently the #3 most-watched show on the Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart this week and I would say, overall, the drama is being received very well by international K-drama fans as well as Korean.
Resident Playbook stars Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Han Ye Ji, Kang You Seok, and Jung Joon Won.
Its next episode premieres on Saturday, April 26th on both tvN and Netflix — where you can currently watch up to Episode 4.
