Second Shot at Love EP1 kicks off with solid ratings – international viewers love it so far

Choi Soo Young and Gong Myung’s new drama Second Shot at Love kicked off last night with strong ratings for a first episode of a tvN drama airing on Monday/Tuesday nights.

Let’s hope the Korean drama can keep it up, as the first episode was incredibly fun.

According to the data via Nielsen Korea, Second Shot at Love, Episode 1 aired to a 3.35 percent nationwide audience share and an even higher viewership of 4.34 percent in Seoul.

That is a solid kick off for the new tvN romantic comedy, and higher than the first episode of its predecessor The Divorce Insurance‘s (3.23 percent/3.61 percent) in the same time slot.

A drama that went on to be a gigantic flop, by the way.

It also appears Second Shot at Love may end up being a fan favorite by international fans, as the majority commenting on both My Drama List and Viki (where the K-drama is streaming) are massively positive.

I don’t mind the FL drinking because it’s the plot, and for once a k drama isn’t glamorizing Korean drinking culture. I wish she would tell her family the real reason she broke off the engagement- the need to be ashamed and hide the fact that your fiancé is a cheating jerk is a tedious storyline.

I love the fact that FL has a job that is in a male dominated field, so hope that some of the storyline is her getting back into being a car engineer.

Hoping that the leads didn’t stop speaking because of some stupid misunderstanding, and that it’s hashed out early on instead of dragging it on for a long time like in Love Next Door or Love Your Enemy. I am enjoying it so far so hope the chaos and fun continues.

The Korean drama is also earning a very high 8.8 out of 10 on the site so far, where anything above an 8.1 or 8.2 generally means viewers love the show.

Meanwhile, on Viki, the Korean rom-com is earning a crazy high 9.9 out of 10 rating. Albeit from only 53 people so far but, even for that site where ratings tend to be higher than elsewhere, that is an extremely high rating.
