The new Korean period drama Song of the Bandits released on Netflix on September 22nd and, in just the first couple of days it was out, had already grabbed the attention of a large number of the streaming platform’s users.
So much so, Song of the Bandits is currently the sixth most-watched non-English TV show on the platform.
According to Netflix, for the period of September 18th to September 24th, Song of the Bandits had had over 1.7 million views, with 14.9 million hours watched so far.
Not bad for a drama that had only been available to watch for three days at the time, eh?
The streaming platform also says the drama is performing exceptionally well in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea and Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Flix Patrol is now reporting Song of the Bandits is the sixth most-watched TV show on Netflix in any language — English or otherwise.
No wonder then, in a new interview, South Korean actor Kim Nam Gil, star of the drama, has already said if Netflix will not produce a second season of Song of the Bandits, he will do it on another streaming platform.
Song of the Bandits was directed by Hwang Jun Hyeok, written by Han Jeong Hoon, and stars the aforementioned Kim Nam Gil, alongside Seohyun, Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Hyun Wook, and Lee Ho Jung.
All 9 episodes are now available to stream on Netflix.
If you haven’t started watching it yet, and you live an utterly superb action drama, this one is for you.
