Superb ‘Twelve’ cast includes Ma Dong Seok, Lee Joo Bin, Go Gyu Pil, Park Hyung Sik and more

The just-confirmed main cast of the upcoming superhero K-drama Twelve (트웰브) looks absolutely amazing, with a huge number of actors whose dramas I always watch.

That Twelve main cast is Ma Dong Seok, Park Hyung Sik, Sung Dong Il, Lee Joo Bin, Seo In Guk, Kang Mi Na, Go Gyu Pil, Ahn Ji Hye, Sung Yoo Bin, and Regina Lei — nine of whom are each playing one of the 12 angels the drama centers around.

That means, with one of the cast playing a human (see below) we are just shy of three actors who will be playing the 10th, 11th and 12th angels. (Lee Dong Wook, Kim Jae Wook or Jung Woo Sung would suit me fine, thank you).

Kang Dae Gyu (Pawn) is directing.

What is the plot of Twelve about?

Twelve takes place in an enormous universe that is based on the 12 animals of the zodiac but, in this case, 12 angels who are “human” reincarnations of those animals.

Those 12 angels live in the human world among us, so that they can protect us from demons.

Sung Dong Il plays Ma Rok – a human who was chosen by God as the manager of the 12 angels.

Led by the leader of the angels Tae San, the tiger, (played by Ma Dong Seok), the 12 angels fight against Asura, the king of demons who was hated by God because of his actions and so banished.

Now fated to never again gain entry into heaven, Asura gathers his demon operatives with a goal of destroying the world.

Alongside Ma Dong Seok, Park Hyung Sik plays Ogui, the crow, and Seo In Guk is Won Seung, the monkey.

Lee Joo Bin is Mir, the dragon, Go Gyu Pil is Don Yi, the incarnation of the pig, Kang Mi Na is Gang Ji, the dog, Sung Yoo Bin plays Jwi Dol, the rat, while Ahn Ji Hye is Mal Sook, the incarnation of the horse.

Taiwanese actress Regina Lei plays Bang Wool, the snake.

In other words, the world-building for this new Korean fantasy drama will likely be amazing.

Ji Chang Wook not starring in Twelve?

And, as a side note, Ji Chang Wook was originally said to be a part of the Twelve main cast, but the actor is rumored to having bowed out at a later stage.

With what he always has going on as an incredibly in-demand actor, that withdrawal was likely due to scheduling conflicts.

There is no word yet as to when Twelve will premiere, but we do know it will be 8 episodes in length, and that it is currently scheduled to release some time in 2025.

We will keep you up-to-date here at Leo Sigh as more information comes out as, needless to say, with that stellar cast and this unique plot, it should be a helluva (heavenuva?) fun one!
