Yakuza Fiancé creditless opening/ending animations out feature bangin’ OP and ED and AWESOME art style

The new Studio Deen organized crime/romance-themed drama Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii premiered yesterday.

And, just in case you forgot, the production committee has just released creditless opening and ending animations that feature the anime’s OP and ED.

If you watched Yakuza Fiancé, Episode 1, you will already know the anime is a stand-out for its crazy characters, wild art style and laugh-out-loud humor.

So much so, if it continues in the same style, there will only be two more spots available in my Top 3 Best of Fall, 2024.

The just-released Yakuza Fiancé creditless opening and ending animations don’t get much of a chance to show off the anime’s unique humor, but they do do a bang-up job introducing its gorgeously cool art style.

All while giving you an idea of the strangeness of Yakuza fiancé Kirishima Miyama and his potential wife Yoshino Somei, as they appear to go from hating each other to desperate need in the Yakuza Fiancé opening animation.

Meanwhile, the ending animation shows them much more relaxed.

Both the creditless opening and ending animations also feature the anime’s bangin’ OP (OVER and UNDER‘ by THE ORAL CIGARETTES) and ED (Nani Warotonnen‘ by Yoshino).

Yakuza Fiancé details

The anime adaptation is based on the Yakuza Fiancé manga series written and illustrated by Asuka Konishi (mangaka of the equally superb Haru’s Curse).

It is being directed by Toshifumi Kawase (Washimo), with Rika Nakase (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi) in charge of series composition, and character designs from Itsuko Takeda (Black Clover).

Studio Deen (Days with my Stepsister) is in charge of the anime production.

The critically-acclaimed manga, by the way, is being published in English via Seven Seas who has eight volumes out so far.

They explain the crazy plot like this:

Yoshino grew up the sheltered yakuza princess of the largest crime family in Osaka, the Somei. Due to her resting bitch face and dangerous family, no man has ever approached her. When her grandfather signs a truce with the Tokyo-based Miyama crime family, he offers her up as a truce bride to the Miyama leader’s grandson! Kirishima Miyama is popular, charming, and seems totally normal.

But behind his smile is a violent sadomasochist who thirsts for her dominance even more when she impresses him with her moxie! Even though she knows how bad yakuza can be, she’s stunned by Miyama’s viciousness. She can’t turn him down with the East-West peace treaty on the line…so instead she steels herself to play ball!

Watch Episode 1 of Yakuza Fiancé now on Crunchyroll. New episodes release every Monday.

If you enjoy something off the beaten track, this one will definitely please.
