Official confirmation has arrived today that actors Kwon Yul and Jung Yoo Min will be joining the cast of the upcoming SBS K-drama Connection, which is set to premiere on May 24th.
According to various sources, Connection is a psychological criminal investigation drama centered on a twisted friendship and the investigation into the death of a high school friend, whose death garnered an astounding insurance payout of five billion won (approximately $3.7 million).
Kwon Yul will take on the role of Park Tae Jin, a powerful prosecutor at the Ahn Hyun District Office, and the former high school classmate of both Jang Jae Kyung (played by Ji Sung) and Oh Yun Jin (Jeon Mi Do).
From a poor background, but renowned for his intellect since childhood, Park Tae Jin reunites with Jae Kyung and Yun Jin, with the trio soon finding themselves entangled in the mysteries surrounding their past.
A past that might be far more complicated than it seemed at the time.
There is no word yet on the part Jung Yoo Min will play, except that she is confirmed as part of the K-drama’s cast.
Connection is being directed by Kim Moon Kyo (Trolley), with screenwriter Lee Hyun (Diary of a Prosecutor) writing the scripts.
Kwon Yul and Jung Yoo Min’s past roles
In recent years, Kwon Yul has played some of K-drama fans’ favorite roles.
Most notably in Longing for You, Love is for Suckers, Mental Coach Jegal, Dali and the Cocky Prince, Haechi, Bring It On, Ghost, Voice and No, Thank You, (Seasons 1 and 2),.
His 2024 also looks like it will be busy, as he is currently slated to also appear in the upcoming K-dramas Voice, Season 5 and and The Woman Who Plays.
Meanwhile, Jung Yoo Min is known for her recent roles in Perfect Marriage Revenge, Celebrity, Red Balloon, Red Shoes, Hospital Playlist (Season 1 and 2), Unasked Family, and Love in the Moonlight.
Her role in the upcoming Connection marks the 32-year-old actress’ first venture for 2024.
