What’s the Serendipity’s Embrace plot about?

The new tvN romantic comedy was written by first-time produced writer Park Geu Ro.

The Korean drama is directed by Song Hyun Wook (The Midnight Studio), and stars Kim So Hyun (My Lovely Liar), Chae Jong Hyeop (Castaway Diva), Yoon Ji On (Tomorrow), and Kim Da Som (Kokdu: Season of Deity).

The Korean drama is adapted from the webtoon of the same name written by Nam Ji Eun and illustrated by Kim In Ho.

Viki, who is streaming the K-drama for its international viewers, describes its plot like this:

In her final year of high school, Lee Hong Ju fell head over heels in love. But this first brush with love ended in heartbreak. Ever since, she has been deeply skeptical when it comes to everything love-related.

A decade later, she has become an animation producer when fate reunites her with her former crush, Hu Yeong, in a cafe.

He has returned to South Korea from the United States and is now a 29-year-old financial planner. They are both hit by a wave of emotions. Could a fresh chance at romance be in the cards? Or has too much water passed under the bridge?

With one episode out so far, Viki viewers are currently rating the new Korean rom-com with a very high 9.7 out of 10.

It is also currently being rated a solid 8.7 out of 10 by IMDB users.

The next episode of Serendipity’s Embrace will air on tvN in South Korea later on tonight, with Viki streaming it soon after.

Let’s see how the second episode’s ratings go, eh? But, so far, at least, this one looks very promising.
