My Lovely Liar Ep 16 did NOT end on highest ever rating but still #1 on cable TV

After the penultimate episode of the Korean drama My Lovely Liar aired on Monday night to almost its highest rating yet, I really did expect tonight’s series finale to hit record highs.

But the highest ever rating I expected for My Lovely Liar, Episode 16 did not transpire as, according to Nielsen Korea, the drama concluded on Tuesday night with a nationwide rating of 3.44 percent.

That is the same rating the tvN drama received for Episode 6, so not the going-out-with-a-bang result I predicted.

In Seoul, where Episode 15 earned the romantic comedy its highest ever rating in that region, My Lovely Liar, Episode 16 also failed to deliver as I expected.

Instead, the drama actually saw a drop in the ratings from its previous episode’s 3.86 percent to Tuesday evenings 3.40 percent of the Seoul audience share.

But, regardless that the tvN drama did not earn the much higher rating for its finale I expected, it did still garner respectable enough ratings to be in the #1 spot on cable TV nationwide, and the #2 spot in Seoul.

My Lovely Liar stars Kim So Hyun and Hwang Min Hyun, and aired every Tuesday and Wednesday evening on tvN in South Korea.

It also streams on TVING.

Outside South Korea, the K-drama has streamed on Viki since its first episode premiered on July 31st.

International viewers can now catch Episode 16 on the same streaming platform.
