The Divorce Insurance EP3 ratings hit lowest so far – are international viewers also dropping theirs?

The Divorce Insurance performing worse than predecessor My Dearest Nemesis

The new tvN Monday/Tuesday drama has not been performing particularly well since it premiered. Something that is surprising, since the K-drama features an absolutely stellar cast, and pretty decent writing.

But, last night, The Divorce Insurance, Episode 3 proved yet again, most Korean drama fans viewers don’t seem to be too enamored of the series.

At least if its latest ratings are proof, after they fell to the drama’s lowest ones yet last night.

The nationwide ratings for The Divorce Insurance, Episode 3 on Monday night then were just 2.02 percent.

A drop from Episode 2’s audience share of 2.41 percent, and an even worse drop from the K-drama’s first nationwide rating of 3.23 percent for Episode 1.

A similar fall was seen from audiences in Seoul last night, where Episode 3 earned just 2.03 percent of the viewership — down from Episode 2’s rating of 2.84 percent, and even lower than Episode 1’s audience share of 3.61 percent.

The Divorce Insurance‘ ratings are also lower than every episode of its predecessor My Dearest Nemesis, which never fell below a 3.45 percent viewership during its entire 12-episode run in the same time slot.

International viewers’ ratings for The Divorce Insurance?

As you might expect, viewers over on My Drama List are currently rating The Divorce Insurance quite low, with almost 750 users so far awarding it just 7.8 out of 10.

That will likely rise, though, as most dramas start off pretty low on that site, and then rise as the same trolls that always downgrade a not-stereotypical rom-com move onto destroy the ratings of another show that doesn’t fit the same tired box.

Especially as those still watching the drama seem to be more frustrated with the insurance theme, which they often find “boring”, rather than deciding the writing or the cast are the problems. (They’re not!)

Even so, quite a few are commenting The Divorce Insurance features some truly funny scream-laughing-out-loud moments and, if the drama continues to include more of those, their ratings are also likely to rise.

Meanwhile, the Korean rom-com is earning an even lower rating on IMDB — 7.3 out of 10 — but, again, that isn’t surprising either, as the same type of trolls seem to spend an inordinate amount of time destroying shows on that site as well.

So much so, I haven’t taken an IMDB rating seriously since the site allowed a troll army to downrate King the Land to a crazy low 1.3 out of 10 because they were upset with one character in it, and have still allowed it to stay at a ridiculously low 5.5 out of 10 from tens of thousands of people who didn’t even actually watch it.

In other words, the international ratings for The Divorce Insurance are not remotely reliable or reputable yet, and won’t be until close to when it is scheduled to end.

Only then does a drama’s true rating usually appear.

The Divorce Insurance stars Lee Dong WookLee Joo BinLee Kwang Soo, and Lee Da Hee.

Its next episode hits tvN and Amazon Prime Video internationally later on tonight.

Update: Sadly, the nationwide and Seoul ratings for Episode 4 fell even further.
