Food for the Soul’s Nana Hoshi character video shows just how shy our girl is and it’s adorable

One of my favorite characters in the ongoing slice-of-life anime Food for the Soul is Nana Hoshi.

A first-year university student who is introduced in Episode 4, and is just about the shyest person in all of anime.

Today, the adorable Nana Hoshi got her own character video, and it does a brilliant job of showing the soul-crushing shyness poor Nana struggles with on a daily basis. Even as she knows she is unable to speak like a normal person, she still can’t help it.

Awwwww.

What’s great about her, though, is once she becomes comfortable with you, she’s just about the friendliest and most clingy person you will ever meet.

Something Mako-chan learned quickly to her immense surprise.

Nana Hoshi is beautifully voiced by Saya Aizawa (Yuzuki in Taisho Otome Fairy Tale), by the way.

Nana Hoshi’s character video was released via the Food for the Soul X account, while the anime’s website also shows off her character design and comments about their shyest girl:

She wanted to found a puzzle club, but joined the Food Culture Research Club. Tsutsuji was a classmate in high school. She is extremely shy, but when you get to know her, she has an incredibly bright side.

The character video for Nana follows on from those for Kurea, Shinon and Tsutsuji, which were released previously. That also means the fifth, and final, character trailer will be for fifth member of the Food Culture Research Club — Mako.

Production details for Food for the Soul

The ongoing slice-of-life food-themed anime series is being directed by Shinya Kawatsura (Non Non Biyori), with series composition by Yoshihiro Hiki (Akiba Maid War), and character designs from  Hajime Mitsuda (Kiratto Pri☆chan).

P.A. Works (Shirobako) is animating.

The anime’s next episode, Food for the Soul, Episode 5, hits later on today. Along with watching Nana Hoshi’s adorable character video, you can watch the trailer for that as well down below, as it appears poor Mako has gained some weight.

The episode itself will hit Crunchyroll.
