Chae Won Bin joins Miss Granny cast as Kim Hae Sooks’ granddaughter – K-drama adaptation of hit film looks fun!

Get ready for a heartwarming, high-energy twist on a beloved classic! And with a newly announced cast member that so many K-drama fans absolutely adore!

That’s because Chae Won Bin (Doubt) is officially joining the star-packed cast of the much-anticipated KBS2 drama Miss Granny, which is set to debut this December!

Sharing the screen with the legendary Kim Hae Sook (Gyeonseong Creature), rising stars Jung Ji So (The Glory), and Jung Jin Young (Sweet Home), Chae Won Bin will light up the screen as Choi Ha Na, the determined and bold granddaughter of Kim Hae Sook’s character, Oh Mal Sun.

Always the top student, newly confirmed Miss Granny cast member Choi Ha Na gives up her academic drama to do just what her grandmother is doing — (see below) — training to become a big star in the music world.

The upcoming Miss Granny is a drama adaptation of the hit film of the same name starring Na Moon Hee and Shim Eun Kyung.

It captured the attention of audiences not just in South Korea but worldwide back in 2014 when it premiered, due to its lovely blend of humor, emotion, and music.

What is the plot of Miss Granny?

The story centers on Oh Mal Soon, a spirited grandmother in her 70s who suddenly and quite magically transforms into her 20-year-old self, Oh Doo Ri.

With a fresh, youthful appearance, she then seizes the opportunity to chase her unfulfilled dreams, reliving the excitement of youth and reigniting her passion for music.

Yep, she’s going to be an idol.

Kim Hae Sook takes on the role of the unstoppable Oh Mal Soon, a tough yet lovable matriarch who’s determined to become a K-pop idol. Even if it sounds ridiculous.

Her transformation sparks chaos and comedy as she steps into the world of idol training, ready to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a singer.

Meanwhile, Jung Ji So portrays the quirky, unpredictable now 20-something Oh Doo Ri. A person who blends youthful innocence with the wisdom of someone much older. To interesting effect.

As she joins a large entertainment company to chase her dream of being a singer, Oh Doo Ri causes shock among her friends and neighbors, and in the world of K-pop.

As for Jung Jin Young, the 32-year-old actor takes on the role of Daniel Han, a genius music producer and former idol leader himself.

With a perfect mix of heart, humor, and music then, Miss Granny promises to be the ultimate feel-good drama this winter!

Miss Granny will premiere this December in the same time slot as Face Me, which kicks off on KBS2 at 21:50 (KST) tomorrow, November 6th.
