Doctor Slump Episode 3 maintains strong viewership amidst tough competition

Doctor Slump, Episode 3 aired on JTBC in South Korea over the weekend, holding steady in viewership ratings.

According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 3 garnered 5.07 percent of viewers nationwide, which is slightly lower than its previous episode’s 5.13 percent.

However, this marginal difference is negligible in the broader context.

Especially as the slight dip in ratings could be attributed to the intense competition from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 football games airing simultaneously on South Korean TV.

Understandably, viewers may have been torn between the two.

Doctor Slump performs well on Netflix

Despite this, Doctor Slump is gaining traction beyond South Korea, securing the 9th spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart last week.

Within just two days of its Netflix debut, the K-drama amassed an impressive 1.4 million views, highlighting its universal appeal.

As we await the next round of official Netflix data then, it will be interesting to see if Doctor Slump maintains its position or ascends higher on Netflix’s rankings.

Meanwhile, it does seem the K-drama series has captured the hearts of international audiences with its unique charm, superb performances by main leads Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye, and its storyline.

Check back to Leo Sigh on Tuesday, and we will let you know how well the drama performed on the streaming platform this week.

The next episode of Doctor Slump will air on JTBC in Korea tonight at 22:30 Korean time, with Netflix streaming the latest episode for its international viewers.
