The casting history of The Price of Confession

According to various Korean news media, South Korean actress Jeon Do Yeon may soon be starring in the upcoming murder mystery drama The Price of Confession.

The Korean drama was originally said to be starring both Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee, with the two actresses even promoting their roles in The Price of Confession with posts on their individual Instagram accounts (Song Hye Kyo’s account and Han So Hee‘s) back in March.

Later on in the year, however, it appeared the two women were having problems being able to commit to the drama (whether that was scheduling or for other reasons it was never announced), with both eventually stepping down in May.

Director Lee Eung Bok had also stepped down from the project earlier in the year due to scheduling conflicts.

Production for The Price of Confession was then put on hold until Crash Landing on You director Lee Jung Hyo joined the drama, and a new female lead was then sought.

Jeon Do Yeon was named as being that person earlier today, with her agency Management SOOP saying she has received an offer to star in The Price of Confession and is currently reviewing it.

Jeon Do Yeon had a stellar 2023

Jeon Do Yeon, of course, has had a bumper year in 2023, first starring in the smash hit drama Crash Course in Romance alongside Jung Kyung Ho starting in January, followed by a starring role in the Netflix action thriller film Kill Bok Soon.

Earlier this year, it was also announced the 50-year-old actress was starring in the film Revolver alongside Ji Chang Wook, and Im Ji Yeon.

No word yet on when The Price of Confession will begin filming, or much else about it including its plot, but we will keep you updated when we find out and when/if Jeon Do Yeon is announced as one of the female leads.
