Like Flowers in Sand Ep 2 rating drops slightly when not competing against A Good Day to Be a Dog

The new ENA drama Like Flowers in Sand, Episode 2 aired last night to a slight ratings drop.

A drop that was slightly worse than it looked as, unlike when the K-drama’s first episode aired on Wednesday night, the drama was not competing against A Good Day to Be a Dog in the same 21:00 time slot.

According to the new numbers via Nielsen Korea, Like Flowers in Sand, Episode 2 rating was 1.41 percent, which is very slightly down from its previous episode’s 1.48 percent.

That being said, Korean dramas often see a small drop with their second episode as viewers decide if a drama is for them or not.

As the audience solidifies and new people begin to watch, the rating often shoots back up.

International viewer ratings for Like Flowers in Sand

Meanwhile, international viewers rating the series on My Drama List have dropped the rating from yesterday’s 8.2 out of 10 to today’s 8.0 rating.

That rating, however, will change and stabilize by the time the midpoint of the drama airs as many viewers currently watching the show do not leave a rating until they have watched at least five or six episodes.

Quite rightly so, I might add, as how do you know how good or bad a drama will be after just one hour?

Comments, however, are mostly positive with the only complaints so far that it will be difficult to wait almost a week for Episode 3 to air, as people have enjoyed the first two so much, while others are complaining about the low My Drama List rating.

With the drama airing on Netflix, it will also be interesting to see how Like Flowers in Sand fares when the Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows rankings for this week are released next Tuesday.

Like Flowers in Sand stars Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Ju Myoung, Yoon Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, and Lee Joo Seung.

The Korean drama airs on ENA every Wednesday and Thursday evening at 21:00 (KST), with Netflix streaming it in some international regions.
