Like Flowers in Sand Ep 1 premieres to good ratings considering it airs opposite A Good Day to Be a Dog

The new Korean drama Like Flowers in Sand, Episode 1 premiered on ENA last night to good ratings, especially considering it aired directly opposite the ongoing A Good Day to Be a Dog in the same time slot.

According to the new figures from Nielsen Korea, Like Flowers in Sand, Episode 1 earned a 1.48 percent rating nationwide, which is a solid number for the K-drama’s premiere.

Especially on ENA, which is a pay TV network.

The new 20-somethings focused Korean drama stars Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Ju Myung, Yoon Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, and Lee Joo Seung.

The drama tells the story of Kim Baek Doo (played by Jang Dong Yoon), who is a wrestler in the Korean sport of ssireum but is now thinking of retiring from the sport.

But, after he meets his childhood friend Oh Yoo Kyung (Lee Joo Myung), he suddenly begins to look at things differently.

Especially after she begins to work as the leader for the ssireum team Kim Baek Doo currently wrestles on.

Like Flowers in Sand airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:00 (KST) on ENA, with Netflix airing it in some regions including the United States.

The Korean drama’s second episode airs later on tonight, with Netflix streaming it for international viewers.
