The upcoming rom-com The Dangers in My Heart anime will premiere on April 1st and, if the just released key visual is anything to go by, oh this will be incredibly cute and funny! (see visual below)
The latest The Dangers in My Heart key visual features loner Kyotaro Ichikawa and class idol Anna Yamada walking down the street together.
Kyotaro looks like his usual shy, gloomy and uncomfortable self, while Anna is as smiley and cheerful as always.
Then again, Kyotaro has been harbouring thoughts about murdering Anna, so maybe that’s why he appears so uncomfortable?
Along with the cute The Dangers in My Heart key visual, we also got a new trailer showing Kyotaro’s initial dislike of Anna.
Until he realizes she is incredibly popular for a reason. Anna is cool, quirky and a bit weird. And unlike many other people, she is actually nice to him as well.
The latest The Dangers in My Heart trailer also features a quick snippet of the anime’s lovely opening theme song — ‘Shayo‘ by Yorushika. (watch below)
The anime is based on the popular manga by Norio Sakuria, with its English language version currently being published by Seven Seas Entertainment.
There are currently five volumes out in English, with the sixth one due to be published in July.
Seven Seas had this to say about the manga’s oddball plot:
Kyotaro Ichikawa, a boy barely clinging to the bottom rung of his school’s social ladder, secretly believes he’s the tortured lead in some psychological thriller. He spends his days dreaming up ways to disrupt his classmates’ peaceful lives and pining after Anna Yamada, the class idol.
But Kyotaro’s not nearly the troubled teen he pretends to be…and it turns out Anna’s a bit odd herself!
The anime adaptation is being directed by Hiroaki Akagi (A Couple of Cuckoos), with series composition by Jukki Hanada (Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu), and character designs from Masato Katsumata (The Quintessential Quintuplets 2 and movie sequel).
The fabulous voice actor Shun Horie (Kazuya in Rent-a-Girlfriend) is playing Kyotaro, while the equally superb Hina Youmiya (Shinju in My Dress-up Darling) is voicing Anna.
Anime production is from Shin-Ei Animation (Teasing Master Takagi-san).
Mark your calendars for April 1st as, with scripts from the hilarious Hitoribocchi creator, this one is almost guaranteed to be good.
