Oh My Ghost Clients EP1 premieres to solid ratings – especially as it airs opposite The Haunted Palace

Oh My Ghost Clients, Jung Kyung Ho’s first male lead in a Korean drama since Crash Course in Romance ended in March, 2023 kicked off last night to solid ratings.

Ratings that were especially good for the K-drama’s first episode, considering it airs directly opposite the hugely popular SBS drama The Haunted Palace.

The nationwide rating for Oh My Ghost Clients, Episode 1 was 4.1 percent on Friday night, versus the audience share of 9.8 percent for The Haunted Palace, Episode 13.

Like I said, not a bad rating at all, considering The Haunted Palace has been one of the most successful Friday shows since it premiered on April 18th.

Meanwhile, Oh My Ghost Clients performed even better with audiences in Seoul, grabbing 4.5 percent of the ratings compared to The Haunted Palace’ viewership of 9.3 percent.

Let’s see then how the new MBC drama fares later on tonight when its second episode hits.

Oh My Ghost Clients production details

The new MBC TV drama stars Jung Kyung Ho in the lead role as Noh Moo Jin, a labor attorney who is suddenly approached by ghosts asking them to mediate their labor problems.

Seol In Ah (Twinkling Watermelon) plays Na Hui Ju, Moo Jin’s sister-in-law, and the brains behind his labor law practice, while Cha Hak Yeon (Joseon Attorney: A Morality) is video creator Ko Gyeon U.

Movie director Im Soon Rye (The Point Men) is directing his first K-drama with Oh My Ghost Clients, while the Korean drama is written by Kim Bo Tong (D.P.).

The 10-episode mini-drama will air through Jun 28th, 2025 on MBC TV in South Korea, and on Viki and/or on KOCOWA in most international regions.

Oh and yep, if you haven’t watched Episode 1 yet and enjoy a good comedy drama, do give this one a look as its first episode is genuinely funny, and Jung Kyung Ho, Seol In Ah and Cha Hak Yeon are absolutely brilliant together. (The comedic timing!!!!!)
