The Auditors Ep 1 kicks off with solid ratings – an explosive first episode from what could be one of best K-dramas of season

The new tvN drama The Auditors, Episode 1 aired last night to solid ratings and a #1 slot in its time slot.

Numbers via Nielsen Korea show The Auditors, Episode 1 ratings were 3.51 percent nationwide, and a slightly lower 3.37 percent in Seoul.

Those ratings are, however, the lowest first rating for a tvN drama in that time slot for the entire year so far, with The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, Queen of Tears, Captivating the King, and Maestra: Strings of Truth all earning higher ratings for their first episodes.

First episode ratings, though, are rarely indicative of where a drama will head, so keep an eye on what happens next.

Especially as, from that explosive first episode, The Auditors looks like it may just be one of the big hits of this season.

What is The Auditors?

The new workplace action drama tells the story of Shin Cha Il (played by Shin Ha Kyun) a talented and infamous audit team leader who works together with Koo Han Su (Lee Jung Ha) a young and initially very naive employee, to uncover widespread corruption at JU Construction.

Hwang Dae Woong is the vice president of JU Construction, and the third son of the company’s founder. His ambition is to become the president of the company by beating out his two older brothers.

The Korean drama stars the aforementioned Shin Ha Kyun (Evilive) and Lee Jung Ha (Moving), alongside Jin Goo (Shadow Detective), Jung Moon Sung (Divorce Attorney Shin) and Jo Aram (Doctor Cha).

It will air every Saturday and Sunday evening on tvN at 21:20 (KST).

International viewers can watch the drama via Viki, where it is currently being rated a very solid 8.6 out of 10.
