The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract poster has Lee Se Young emerging from Joseon into the 21st Century

Lee Se Young looks beautiful in a hanbok for The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract promo poster

Having read The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract, the upcoming MBC adaptation of the Korean webtoon is something I am particularly looking forward to.

Especially as it stars two of my favorite Korean actors — Lee Se Young (The Red Sleeve and The Law Cafe) and Baek In Hyuk (My Roommate is a Gumiho and Cheer Up), and because the plot is quite dramatic.

Throw in the beautiful photography that is gracing the promos for The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract so far, and the K-drama looks like it may just grab all the feels.

Take the just-released The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract poster for instance, as it features protagonist Park Yeon Woo (played by Lee Se Young) dressed in a traditional hanbok (white blouse and red skirt) about to walk through an old gate from the Joseon area and out into the modern world.

New The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract poster

The poster perfectly depicts Park Yeon Woo’s appearance as she arrives in the modern world, dressed as a Joseon woman from 200 years ago.

Although, in the story, she falls down a well and appears in the modern world in the middle of a hotel swimming pool.

But that wouldn’t look as pretty on a poster, eh?

What is The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract plot about?

The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract is directed by Park Sang Hoon and written by Go Na Jeong.

It is based on the webtoon by Angelique and Kim Neo Ul, and tells the story of Park Yeon Woo, the daughter of an influential man in the Joseon era (19th century) whose husband dies on their wedding day, and who soon finds herself being attacked by a strange assailant and thrown down a well.

Instead of dying, however, she emerges in the swimming pool of a 21st century hotel.

Once there, she is rescued by a man called Kang Tae Ha who looks just like her now late husband, and a man whom she soon finds herself entering into a contract marriage with.
