The K-drama Chief Detective 1958, Episode 8 aired last night to its highest Saturday ratings yet.

This came right on the back of Friday night’s very solid ratings, and with both ratings proving the Korean crime drama is likely to end on an all-time high when its final two episodes air on MBC next weekend.

Those ratings, by the way, were 9.7 percent nationwide, which was up from its previous Saturday high of 9.0 percent for Episode 6.

The Korean crime drama performed even better in Seoul too, where it grabbed 10.1 percent — up from Friday night’s 9.8 percent, and substantially higher than its previous Saturday night high of 9.2 percent.

Not a surprise to anyone who watched Chief Detective 1958, Episode 8, of course, as the Lee Je Hoon-led drama has been consistently excellent from its first episode.

And also excellent ratings for a drama that had three rival dramas airing in the same time slot last night — The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, Missing Crown Prince and The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection.

Final two episodes of Chief Detective 1958 air next weekend – be sure to watch

Chief Detective 1958 stars one of the best male main casts I have seen in a while — the aforementioned Lee Je Hoon, alongside Lee Dong Hwi, Choi Woo Sung and Yoon Hyun Soo.

The final two episodes of Chief Detective 1958 will air next Saturday and Sunday at 21:50 (KST) on MBC, with Disney Plus streaming the drama in some regions.

And that is the only sad thing about this.

That a superb drama was licensed by Disney for only a few regions, when it deserved to be on Netflix and available to watch for all.
