With Korean actor Jang Dong Yoon’s recent superb performances in last year’s K-dramas Like Flowers in Sand and Daily Dose of Sunshine, it appears the 31-year-old actor has decided a new talent agency may be more adept at promoting his now-skyrocketing career.

That may be why his now-new agency BH Entertainment announced earlier today that Jang Dong Yoon has just signed an exclusive content with them.

His previous agent Dongyi Company has yet to comment on his departure.

Alongside the BH Entertainment announcement about their new client, Jang Dong Yoon himself posted an Instagram update about his move to his new agency, simply saying:

Hi, I’m Dongyoon Jang.
It’s been a while since I’ve been on Instagram.
I decided to start a new beginning with BH Entertainment from today. I will continue to greet you with good works and characters. Meanwhile, I’ll keep you updated with the latest news on Instagram!

Thank you so much!

The reaction from fans was almost immediate, with most wishing the Korean actor well and hoping to see him in more dramas soon.

Jang Dong Yoon’s previous career

Interestingly, the South Korean actor did not have any intention to enter the entertainment industry but, while a university student, he concocted a successful plan to stop a convenience store robbery by a man with a weapon.

Due to that, he appeared in local news after a commendation from police, and was soon receiving offers to act in Korean dramas. (Yep, in South Korea, being brave apparently gets you an acting role. Who knew ).

Since then, Jang Dong Yoon has gone on to create an incredibly successful acting career, with superb performances in K-dramas like the aforementioned Like Flowers in Sand, for which he gained a large amount of weight so he would be authentic in the role, and the Netflix series Daily Dose of Sunshine.

Prior to those, he starred in My Man is Cupid, Oasis, The King of the Desert, Search, The Tale of Nokdu, and Just Dance.

He has also had main roles in movies like Beautiful Days, Run Boy Run, Project Wolf Hunting, and last year’s Long Distance and Devils.

Jang Dong Yoon’s move to BH Entertainment will likely cause the hard-working actor to star in even more high-profile dramas and films.

BH Entertainment was founded by actor Lee Byung Hun in 2006, and has since become one of the most prestigious agencies in South Korea.

Its roster includes people like Kim Go Eun, Park Bo Young, Park Sung Hoon, Park Ji Hu, Park Yu Rim, Park Jin Young, Ahn So Hee, E Jiah, Lee Hee Jun, Jung Woo, Jo Bok Rae, Choo Ja Hyun, Han Ga In and, of course, Lee Byung Hun.

And now Jang Dong Yoon.

Watch a snippet from Jang Dong Yoon’s performance in Like Flowers in Sand, and you will see why he has been so courted by agencies throughout his career.

The superb drama itself is still streaming on Netflix.
