Love Next Door star Jung Hae In may have a new project in the works.

On the 18th of October, a representative of the actor’s agency, FNC Entertainment, told Korean entertainment news, “A Japanese drama is one of the works that has been proposed to our actor.”

This came after, earlier in the day, a media outlet reported that the actor had been offered the male lead role in a Japanese drama and was positively considering the role.

The 36-year-old actor, of course, has already worked with Japanese director Miike Takash on the K-drama Connect back in 2022 for Disney+.

But, if Jung Hae In does star in a Japanese drama, and fingers crossed he does as it would be a nice departure from some of his other roles, it will be his first official Japanese production.

Nothing more has been released about the Korean actor’s possible role in an upcoming Japanese drama, but we will keep you updated here on Leo Sigh as more information is released.

Jung Hae In’s incredibly successful career up until now

Of course, even if the Korean actor decides not to accept a role in a Japanese production, he is still likely to be incredibly busy with more acting role offers than he will know what to do with.

Much of that comes not only from his superb performances in every role he accepts, but also in the astounding success of many of them.

This year alone, Jung Hae In has starred in the very successful K-drama Love Next Door alongside co-star Jung So Min, and in the film I, The Executioner.

That film is currently one of the most successful movies of 2024 having brought in more than 7.3 million admissions in South Korea alone for a total gross of $51,777,199 (as of today) so far.

At the end of last year, he also had a guest role in last year’s most successful film, and one of South Korea’s most successful ever, 12.12: The Day.

His previous K-drama roles also include starring in the hit Netflix drama D.P. (both seasons), in Snowdrop, A Piece of Your Mind, One Spring Night, Something in the Rain and in While You Were Sleeping.

He has also had a supporting role in smash hit Prison Playbook.

Yep, Jung Hae In certainly knows how to choose the best acting projects, doesn’t he?

And that is why, if he does decide to star in a Japanese drama, you can all but guarantee it will be a good one.
