After earning its lowest ever rating with its previous episode, and with just three episodes left to air, MBC drama Motel California, Episode 9 aired last night with ratings that are well on their way back up.
Data via Nielsen Korea shows K-drama Motel California, Episode 9 aired on Friday night to a solid nationwide rating of 4.2 percent — a nice increase from Episode 8’s viewership of 3.4 percent.
Viewers in Seoul also tuned into the Korean drama in higher numbers, with the Lee Se Young and Na In Woo-led series grabbing 4.6 percent of the audience share.

In other words, with the Korean drama ending on February 15th, it is very likely we will see its final three episodes earning solid ratings.
Ratings for Motel California by international viewers
Meanwhile, international viewers are rating the drama at varied levels, depending on the specific platform.
Users of My Drama List, who tend to rate lower than other platforms, are rating the Korean drama a 7.5 out of 10, while viewers watching Motel California via Viki are awarding it a much higher 8.9 out of 10.
I don’t know about you, but I tend to believe the reviews from platforms where a Korean drama is airing, rather than from platforms where an active number of trolls are known to operate,
