A new visual for the ongoing anime The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies has been released on the anime’s official X account.
The latest The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant visual has been created by Eight Chida, the illustrator for the manga adaptation of the original Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki light novels.
Because, of course, the mangaka of The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant series, Cocoa Fujiwara, sadly died back in 2015 at the incredibly young age of just 31 years old, so is unable to create celebratory illustrations for her lovely work herself.
The new The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant visual was drawn by mangaka Eight Chida to celebrate the start of the second half of the popular anime series.
The visual shows the adorable Byakuya toying with the very naive and utterly smitten Mira so much, his glasses smash.
The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies (aka Katsute Mahou Shoujo to Aku wa Tekitai shiteita) anime premiered on July 9th, 2024.
It is based on the incomplete manga series by the aforementioned Cocoa Fujiwara, and is being adapted into an anime series by Studio Bones (My Hero Academia).
Akiyo Oohashi (Bungou Stray Dogs) is directing the anime adaptation, with Yuniko Ayana (Given) in charge of series composition, and Nobuhiro Arai (Bungo Stray Dogs) designing the characters.
The manga series is being published in English by Yen Press, who have released a 408 page omnibus edition of the entire series.
The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies plot goes like this:
“Evil Lieutenant” Mira is the leader of an evil organization that plans on destroying Earth.
The problem is, after magical girl Byakuya Mimori stands up to Mira, he falls in love with her.
And now, he must hide his feelings not only from Byakuya, but also the other officials in his organization.
Enjoy the new celebratory The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies visual and, of course, watch Episode 9 when it premieres on Crunchyroll tomorrow.
